๐ก I Went to a 24-Hour Shanghai Spa with Unlimited Caviar (And Lived to Tell the Tale)
My full Shanghai travel guide is here โ imperial feasts, teddy bear coffee, and all the weird, wild, beautiful details.
Hey writers โ
My full Shanghai, China travel guide is live!
While in Shanghai, Iโฆ
Dressed up like ancient Chinese royalty for an 8-course Gongyan Imperial Feast with dancers, musicians, and projection art that felt like stepping into a dream
Drank so much designer coffee โ including one served with a plush teddy bear hug and another topped with cocoa art of a dogโs face
Spent a glorious day at a luxury 24-hour spa where the buffet included unlimited caviar and where we got traditional Chinese massages. โจ And somehow, most of our spa day was still cheaper than brunch in LA.
Shanghai surprised me. It was hyper-modern in some ways, oddly analog in others. Vegetarian options were hard to come by, but the aesthetics? Impeccable. Itโs a city thatโs constantly performing for the future โ and doing it in style.
BTW โ if you missed last weekโs Beijing Travel Guide, you might want to start there โ I still recommend beginning your China trip with Beijingโs historical depth before heading to Shanghaiโs sleek surface-level sparkle.
More adventures and cliffside barbecue recs and epic views coming soon from Chongqing next.
โAmy
